I graduated from the AAA School of Advertising in 2010; with a degree in Marketing and Brand Management. Immediately after completing my studies, I joined Praekelt Consulting as a Digital Brand Strategy Intern; a Digital Agency in Milpark. During the three month internship, I worked on numerous exciting brands which included Revlon, 5fm, SABC 2, and was responsible for the 2010 Lifestyle/Bonang launch campaign strategy. I later moved to South African Airways where I was appointed a Product and Marketing Intern and carried out the responsibilities of briefing the advertising agency, assisting in the project management of the 2011 Mandela Day Campaign, airport activations and lounge revamp activites to mention but a few. I later moved on to Emcom Wireless where I held the position of E-Marketing Executive; which encompassed the role of both a Brand Manager and a Marketing Manager. I am now the Marketing Officer for Continuing Education at University of Pretoria.
Trend forecasting is born from an inquisitive mind. Every brand leader's ultimate goal is to succeed in becoming the best and the first in line, by staying abreast with the latest trends while remaining true to the brand's core values. In order for a brand to achieve this, one needs to constantly ask these questions: "What is my next move? What can I make of this fusion of trends and common thread? How will this be of benefit to my brand?" Staying curious about consumer behavior has not only opened my mind to a different way of thinking but has also enabled me to identify avenues which certain brands might find rewarding to explore.
