Internet usage trends
ACNielsen has conducted a new research project, commissioned by MSN South Africa, that shows that more women than men are accessing media sites, by a ratio of 54.4% to 45.6%. The online survey of about 3200 internet users also yielded several other interesting statistics: offerings that would encourage people to purchase more often online are free delivery (29.9%), better security (14.3%), and relevant products (12.6%). Online purchases are mostly made with credit cards (35.3%), followed by electronic funds transfer (4.1%), debit cards (4%), Icanonline (3.5%), eBucks (2.4%) and Bluebean.com (1.6%).
