Wish List becomes first filly in 26 years to win Cape Derby
Wish List made history at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on 28 February 2026, becoming the first filly since 1999 to win the Lucky Fish Cape Derby. She finished ahead of Note To Self, Viva’s Liberty and Star Major in the Grade 1 contest.
The race formed part of the Lucky Fish Cape Derby Seafood & Jazz Festival, which drew around 3,000 guests for live music, seafood vendors, a market and family entertainment. The event marked the close of the Summer Festival of Racing and serves as a key lead-up to the Hollywoodbets Durban July.
