The Hospitality Counsel hosted their third annual Luxe Restaurant Awards at the spectacular AURUM restaurant within The Leonardo, celebrating the finest contributions to the South African restaurant industry on the 8 June 2021.
The country's best restaurants were honoured at the 2019 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards, which was held at GrandWest in Cape Town on the 17 November 2019. The Western Cape's restaurants cleaned up - taking most of the top honours including the number one spot, which went to La Colombe.
The 2019 Galliova Awards was held at the Tokara Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The awards honour the country's most outstanding food writers for their excellence in food writing, styling and the overall promotion of SA's food culture and local health writers for their writing excellence and balanced reporting on health and nutrition issues.
The second edition of the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival took place at the House on Fire Sculpture Garden in Swaziland from 2 to 3 August 2019. Luju is an African-vintage styled event celebrating the local, the wholesome, the creative and the delicious.
The Distell Inter Hotel Challenge launch took place over a period from 10 March to 13 April at five venues, which include Sun International Maslow Time Square, Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani, The Royal Portfolio La Residence, Lanzerac Hotel & Spa and The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa.
