Extruwood exhibits recycled products at Hobby-X
As the focus on greener living continues to gain pace in South Africa, eco-conscious leisure pursuits and products will undoubtedly feature more pervasively at Hobby-X. In this light, recycler Extruwood will once again feature at SA Garden magazine's exhibition stand, aptly themed 'Recycleable Goods'.
Extruwood's highly creative products - produced entirely from 100% recycled polyethylene (PE) - are incredibly strong and durable, and do not deteriorate in any weather conditions. "It always amazes consumers and trading visitors to the stand alike when they find out that plastic bottles off the garbage dump can find a new life in play gyms, garden and park furniture, outdoor dustbins; even road barriers, reflector bollards, industrial pallets and outdoor decking," says Kamal Diaite, business manager at Extruwood.
Changing consumers' behaviour
"While reducing the strain on the world's dwindling forest reserves and over-crowded landfill sites, recycling plastic into new products plays a vital role in effecting consumer behavioural change to support recycling in their choice of product," he says.
The SA Garden stand is the place to go for individuals and trading visitors to learn about the array of product choice with a greener label. Two Extruwood products on the stand are kid's garden chairs and flower boxes in easy-to-assemble kits.
Over the past 14 years, Hobby-X has attracted loyal consumers and exhibitors from Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mauritius, Swaziland and even the USA, UK and Europe - all looking for innovative materials, equipment, supplies, ideas and techniques to take back home with them.
