New Auto Mart campaign aimed at novice drivers

The automotive arm of the Junk Mail Publishing Group, Auto Mart, has announced the launch of its #HappyDriving campaign aimed at empowering women and first-time car owners.

"Although we have millions of female car owners out there, many confess that they know very little about car maintenance or mechanics in particular, and we want to change that," said Edna de Sousa, product and marketing manager of Auto Mart. "Every car owner should know what the warning signs are before a car experiences a mechanical failure of some kind, how to properly maintain their vehicle, and how to go about purchasing a new vehicle or motor insurance."

The #HappyDriving campaign seeks to do exactly that, through a series of educational blogs and videos that can be accessed via YouTube or on Automart.co.za.

Step-by-step instructions

"We've been filming regular tutorials teaching ordinary drivers the basics of car maintenance - including step-by-step instructions that demonstrate how to change a tyre or check the fluids in your car," said De Sousa. "We're also encouraging everyone to tweet us their questions or to post them on our Facebook wall."

Facebook fans or Twitter uses can ask any car-related questions by using the hashtags #AskEdna and #HappyDriving @AutomartSA.

"Happy Driving is about confidence - confidently knowing that you are equipped to handle whatever life, and the road, throws at you," said De Sousa. "Our goal is to help provide drivers with that confidence."
