Why children must shape Africa’s digital future

Axel Hauser, general manager at Hilton Sandton said, "Our refurbishment programme at the hotel is part of a bigger plan to enhance the guest experience. The new rooms follow the contemporary design principles put in place when the programme commenced in 2010. The dedicated zones in each room, divided into a work space, relaxation area and sleep/rest space aim to meet the comfort and functional requirements of our guests."
The new rooms feature contemporary furniture, ergonomic desk chairs, international power outlets, LG-LCD flat screen televisions, multimedia connection options, wireless internet, reading lights above the bed, automatic lights in the wardrobe and dedicated zones for relaxation, rest and work. The new rooms will also consume 50% less energy. This is made possible through sealing of the windows to control temperature, compact florescent lighting and the installation of appliances in the room that draw substantially less power.
"This programme has been underway since May 2010 and I am delighted that we are making headway with the completion of three revamped floors. We look forward to hosting our guests in the new rooms which are now fully operational," concluded Hauser.
