Unusual guests arrive at the Sandton Towers
A mating pair of Egyptian Geese have checked in without reservations at Joburg's five-star Sandton Towers hotel. The female laid four eggs, which were carefully hatched whilst the parent birds watched the daily comings and goings of the hotel guests enjoying the pool facility.
The parent birds decided that the Towers was a safe place to raise their goslings and, once hatched, much to the amazement of the guests and hotel staff these young birds joined the guests, feeding in-between them, whilst the parent birds either stood on the parapet carefully observing that no harm came to either goslings or hotel guests, or kept an even closer eye on the babies by swimming with them.
