Solidarity to stand with strikers
Trade union Solidarity has confirmed that its members will join other strikers at Sasol and PetroSA in the hope that renewed pressure from this union will help to ensure that a settlement is reached sooner rather than later.

The South African Petroleum Service Industry's chief executive Avhapfani Tshifularo says that the move by Solidarity is "of great concern" amid reports of intimidation of tanker drivers and widespread petrol shortages mainly in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
The National Petroleum Employers' Association says that it is hoping that the dispute could be settled by this afternoon and its chairman Mxolisi Ratsibe says that it is putting "all its effort and energy into finding common ground."
