Accelerating innovation requires accelerating knowledge sharing

Looking back in history, it's evident that the pace of innovation accelerates when the speed of knowledge sharing accelerates.

Only 200 years ago we had no idea how disease was transmitted, we couldn't send a message from one side of an ocean to another without using a ship, and most human beings would not travel farther than 50 miles from the place of their birth during their lifetime.

As we have developed more efficient ways of accelerating the pace of knowledge sharing, our pace of innovation has sped up. Today, as a species, we are inventing and innovating at an astonishing rate, and for companies or nations that want to outpace competition, they should be focused on accelerating the pace of knowledge sharing if they are intent on being faster and more efficient than their competition.

In Nelson Mandela Bay, there are thousands of SMEs and an abundance of information to share. If business people can get together and formally or informally share some of their skills and knowledge, the Bay's businesses will fly.

Session at the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber

The Office Coach is proposing the Bay accelerate its information sharing and it is holding a session at the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber on 28 March.

Open to current and previous Top 40 Achievers in the Bay, the session will look at human capital management and aim to share key information to improve business and its performance.

"The Business Chamber is very happy to have this opportunity for growth and development offered to the young achievers nominated to this list," said Top 40 Under 40 convener, Nicole Klokow. "This year's achievers will also take part in the Business Chamber's community projects and stand as the young voice of business through issues-driven business forums and contributions to Business Chamber publications. A place on the list also ensures excellent and exclusive networking opportunities with past and current Top 40 achievers."

Post-sharing, the team encourages attendees to share some of their knowledge/information formally or informally in a Pay-it-Forward approach.
