Free petrol incentive from Mango

Mango airlines and fuel giant Total are teaming up to give away petrol in a South African aviation first. In a gesture to ease some of the pressure consumers feel when filling up their cars, the airline will, until 15 September 2008, provide each guest travelling on any of its routes with a R20 fuel voucher redeemable at any Total service station nationally. A return flight will secure R40 in fuel vouchers.

"Guests will receive a R20 Total fuel voucher for every one way leg flown," says Nico Bezuidenhout, Mango CEO, announcing the airlines second innovative incentive for the month; the first being a 10% discount voucher off a future flight for guests checking in less than 15kg of luggage. "August is a double-whammy for us. While our competitors may deviate from low cost models with costly loyalty programmes or saving fuel with special paint, [we] elected to deliver something more meaningful to our guests. Not only do we reward [them] for saving on luggage weight, but we are also putting some money back into their pockets; a voucher with a face value almost equivalent to the cost of driving to the airport."

Reina Cullinan, corporate marketing manager of Total South Africa, says that the energy giant's association with the airline is the first step toward a longer term relationship between two of the country's top brands: "A common denominator of innovation in our respective sectors laid the foundation for a brand relationship that we believe will grow and prosper."

Mango guests travelling between 15 August and 15 September 2008 will be eligible for the vouchers, which will be handed out on board the aircraft.
