Strong SA contingent for One Show 2016 judging
Ross Chowles, Creative Strategist at the Jupiter Drawing Room Cape Town and board member of the One Show explains that only the best creatives are selected from each country in order to maintain the very high standard of a One Show pencil, as One Show is the hardest award to win.
As a result, the One Club offers its congratulations to the four South African judges on being selected. They will judge alongside an esteemed panel of international judges in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. King will judge film, Dyeshana Interactive, Glover radio and Reddy, design.
We caught up with a few of the judges for a quick comment.
King says: "One Show has always represented the sharp edge of creative-for-serious-business for me, and so I'm hugely honoured to have been invited to judge. Film is my first love, so I look forward to bringing back to South Africa all that I learn."
"Judging is obviously always a huge honour but the greatest benefit lies in what we bring home after judging. We finish the process newly inspired and armed with insights and perspectives that we can then apply to our local industry," adds Glover.
Dyeshana's thoughts are along the same line: "I am extremely excited to be invited to judge One Show. The One Club is not only an amazing creative platform, but it is also a non-profit organisation, which gives so much back to the worldwide creative industry, so for any creative to be asked to judge their awards show is a huge honour. I'm also very happy about the category I'll be judging, Interactive, which is where some of the most progressive work in the world is happening right now."
