Earlier this year, The One Club also established the International Board of Directors to increase its presence in countries producing the best creative work. Ross Chowles, Creative Director at the Jupiter Drawing Room, was named to the International Board to serve that mission in South Africa.

"South Africa is a country producing great creative and has a lot of young talent with a real thirst for opportunity in our industry," said Kevin Swanepoel, chief executive officer of The One Club and a South African native.

To that end, The One Club is taking its Creative Boot Camp - a series that introduces multicultural students to the creative industries through a series of intensive workshops - to Cape Town this July.

Additionally, two South African creatives served on The One Show jury this year:

  • Chris Gotz, Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy & Mather/ South Africa (radio jury)
  • Graham Lang, Chief Creative Officer at Y&R South Africa (cross-platform jury).
