Show profile Hide profileSince a young age I struggled to define what I really wanted to do when I grew up as my biggest strengths were equally creativity and problem solving. Through the years I have worked in different fields in the attempt to find what I am really passionate about, such as Project Management, Marketing & Sales, Events, Insolvency Advisor, Editor and I was even a Personal Pilates trainer to the Saudi royal family in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
It was only until I was living and working in England that I discovered a little thing called online shopping that I finally found my path. It all started with e-bay, became more of a shopping obsession actually, and my love for online shopping developed. I never really experimented with shopping online in South Africa, but life in the UK was a bit different, everything is pretty much online.
When I decided to leave the UK and return back to South Africa I had made up my mind that I was going to pursue a career in e-commerce. I wanted to be part of the leading e-commerce team, and this is what brought me to contact bidorbuy.
At the tender age of 38 I was given the opportunity to start working for bidorbuy as a category intern (quite funny as it is a similar situation to that movie called Internship about google). I am now a category / account manager at bidorbuy and I have finally found my passion. I have now been able to combine all of my experience and skills that I have acquired over the years along with my Google Analytics, Adwords, SEO, HTML and CSS and I have the perfect combination of both creative and problem solving.
Which goes to show, you are never too old and it's never to late.
I'm driven, creative and curious. I'm inspired by learning and I constantly strive to better myself in all aspects of my life. Driving innovation is what makes my job amazing!
My other interests include reading, fitness, travel and art.
