Travel-Suedafrika.de and MylifE host charity event in Berlin
All net profits from the event will be donated towards supporting the work of MylifE in South Africa and helping to establish their pilot Eco Village for marginalised youth.
Supported by Diesel and FHM in Germany, the event will be hosted by actress, former model, and MylifE patron - Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3, In the Name of the King) while Global Ambassador and famous lead singer of Just Jinjer, Ard Matthews, will further spread his message of peace and love with a live performance.
Other prominent guests expected to attend the event include actor Noah Dandy (Tuxedo, Stargate SG-1) as well as legendary football player and MylifE patron Ian Wright, who will attend with son Shaun Wright-Phillips from Chelsea F.C.
Access to this exclusive VIP event is by invitation only with guests purchasing their seat at a table in the Bangaluu Private Restaurant. Following dinner, a lingerie show will kick-off in the venue's stylish White Bar - where after auctioning will begin as models individually parade lingerie up for bidding!
After the successes of an evening proving that every human-being can be part of the change to a better tomorrow, Bangaluu Dancers are set to open up the dance-floor to a massive public party expecting hundreds of guests.
Says owner of Travel-Suedafrika.de, Alicyn Schwarz: "Through this event we want to direct the attention to the dramatic situation in South Africa and at the same time create a wonderful evening for our guests. The better the mood on the evening, the better the support for MylifE. Our motto is: Business as usual meets business unusual."
Linzi Thomas of MylifE leaves for Germany on January 27th to attend the event and will be joined by Ard Mathhews who flies in from his new home city, Los Angeles.
About MylifE: A long-term solution to the cycle of hopelessness of children living on the streets.
MylifE is a South African-based NGO that exists to provide a sustainable solution to the prevention and rehabilitation of youth entering the "cycle of hopelessness" a spiral of survival, violence, abuse, rape, prostitution, drugs, disease, murder, gangsterism and crime that is evident on the streets, as well as in communities and prisons.
Through youth empowerment, MylifE assists in engineering social change that moves youth marginalised to the streets as a result of HIV/AIDS and poverty from a position of hopelessness to one of hope in a pay-it-forward system. This is done through the following three-step programme:
Step 1: Works towards breaking the addictions and bonds of the cycle of hopelessness and builds physical health.
Step 2: Focuses on healing the heart and discovering the passion.
Step 3: Focuses on skills development, personal development, and business enterprise.
To date, MylifE has successfully rehabilitated 44 young men and women.
They have healed and become skilled leaders who have impacted on prominent personalities such as Nelson Mandela, Winnie Mandela, Sweden's King Gustav VI, Princess Caroline of Monaco, and Jamie Oliver.
Looking to the future, Linzi Thomas, founding director of MylifE who has spent nine years working on the streets of South Africa to understand the cycle of hopelessness - believes it will take a village to raise a child. As such, she is calling for support to help set up the MylifE Pilot Eco Village which is expected to launch near Cape Town early next year.
Via MylifE's skills development and healing programme, this pilot eco village is expected to become the first model of a care-giving, self-sufficient, and youth-lead community for marginalised youth a model that can be used throughout the world to address the global crisis of hopelessness!
With UNICEF estimating that 6000 children are orphaned in South Africa each day, and that by 2012, the number of orphans due to HIV/AIDS will have risen to 12 million, a solution to this crisis has never been more urgent.
