Music awards move to Nelson Mandela Bay
Metro FM announced on Friday, 7 September 2007, that its annual Metro FM Music Awards event, which was to have been held in Cape Town this year, will now take place in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. The decision was taken between the SABC and the City of Cape Town because of time pressures resulting from extended negotiations on staging costs, sponsorships and internal approval processes. The SABC and Cape Town will continue to work on other broadcasting initiatives, including the future hosting of these awards.
