A well-established print production company in Randburg is seeking an experienced Print Production Estimator with a strong background in large format rand digital printing. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience using Quick Easy estimating software and a solid understanding of large format roll-to-roll, flatbed and digital sheet-fed printing processes.

This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical individual who can accurately cost print jobs, prepare competitive quotations and ensure that estimates reflect production requirements and profitability.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for large format and digital print production jobs.
• Use quick easy estimating software to calculate job costs and generate estimates.
• Estimate jobs involving large format roll-to-roll and flatbed printing.
• Estimate digital sheet-fed printing jobs.
• Assess job specifications, artwork requirements, materials, substrates, finishing processes and production times.
• Calculate material usage, machine time, labour and finishing costs.
• Liaise with sales and production teams to clarify job specifications and ensure accurate costing.
• Identify the most cost-effective production methods for individual jobs.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required turnaround times.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and follow up on quotation queries where necessary.

Minimum requirements:

• Proven experience as a print estimator within a print production, signage or large format printing environment.
• Proficiency in quick easy estimating software.
• Practical knowledge of large format roll-to-roll printing.
• Experience estimating for large format flatbed printing.
• Experience estimating for digital sheet-fed printing.
• A sound understanding of print production processes, materials, substrates and finishing requirements.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with sales and production teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Please note: Experience in lithographic printing is not the focus of this position. Candidates must have relevant experience in large format and digital printing.
