Turner Classic Movies (TCM) celebrated its 10 th anniversary last night (29 September 2010) at the TCM through the Decades gala evening, an elegant, old world style birthday bash held at Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg.
The evening featured a TCM Time Wall, which depicted special moments in cinema since the first silent movies were made. Guests were treated to a screening of two firm classical favourites, Casablanca and The Wizard of Oz. Charmaine Weir-Smith, award winning actress and acclaimed director currently performing on Binnelanders, was the warm and gracious master of ceremonies for the evening. Guests and competition winners arrived attired in their glitzy best and ended the evening with delectable his and hers TCM goodie bags.
