Cherryflava's trend tours
Cherryflava is a Cape Town-based trends and innovation think-tank that specialises in analysing global consumer trends; consulting with clients to help them to spot, understand and exploit the next big thing through inspirational ideas and innovation.
Last week, 14 November 2007, a number of Cape-based media gathered at Longstreet Café in order to experience a preview of Cherryflava's Trend Tours. These types of tours have been big in Japan for a few years, but increasingly trend hunters, marketers and corporates from around the world are looking to South Africa for some fresh inspiration and original entrepreneurial creativity.
Much like the amazing race, the media teams were sent on a wild goose hunt through the streets of Cape Town, feverishly gathering clues in order to discover the next business trend, which would be revealed only once they had figured out the trend that was handed to them at the respective hot spot.
The tour ended up in a cozy new tapas bar called Julip, Cape Town's latest gem. Jonathon then revealed to the tour group the latest global business trends that they had just experienced in such a short space of time in Cape Town.
Cherry says that he hopes that through experiencing local business trends first hand, people would be inspired by what they experience and will be able to implement them in their own personal business practices.
