“This will enhance rural telecommunication as it does not even require electricity to be used,” said Information and Civic Education Minister Leckford Thotho.
He said this phone is ideal for under-served regions because it offers the benefit of a mobile phone besides allowing the subscriber to make and receive calls without the need of a personal handset.
King said the company would mount these phones at every corner of the country.
“The beauty with this new product is that you can also send SMS,” he said.
