Moonves, who is also MIPCOM 2007's Personality of the Year, oversees all of CBS Corp's operations, including the CBS Television Network, The CW (a joint venture between CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment), CBS Television Stations, CBS Paramount Network Television, CBS Television Distribution, CBS Paramount International Television, Showtime, CSTV Networks, CBS Radio, CBS Outdoor, Simon & Schuster, CBS Interactive, CBS Records, CBS Consumer Products, CBS Home Entertainment and CBS Feature Films.
Also on 8 October, two moguls will discuss India's dynamic and rapidly expanding media landscape. The first, Chandra, looks at the phenomenal growth of the Indian television market and how new technology will impact the future and the second, Screwvala, examines the key emerging sectors of the Indian media market, especially film, animation and their international development.
Three television and cinema industry leaders will address MIPCOM audiences on 9 October: Azcarraga explains why Televisa is the most dominant Spanish-language media company in the world and will convey his company's global strategies, including its expansion approach via partnerships to service consumers with
great multi-platform content.
Charged with overseeing all creative aspects of development and programming for NBC and its affiliated studio and digital activities, Silverman will talk about the global broadcasting of content using Hollywood studios' latest strategies and technologies. Finally, Wagner will share her vision of where the movie business is going and what that means for the traditional model of the Hollywood studio.
10 October will see the focus shift to tomorrow's technologies with an appearance by Volpi, the newly appointed CEO of Joost, an Internet-based global interactive TV platform. Volpi will unveil his vision for the company's future and look at some of the findings made during Joost's beta phase.
