As the official logistics partner of the China Food & Drinks Fair 2014, it is ready play a major role in getting top exhibitors shows on the road. The fair will have 100 overseas exhibitors and expects to welcome 230,000 local and overseas visitors.
DHL Trade Fairs & Events is a business unit of DHL Global Forwarding, set up in 2009 to cater to the rapidly growing number of events and exhibitions in China. It has provided logistics expertise for a wide range of events from exhibitions, sports, art and music shows to customer marketing and promotional events, earning a reputation for stress-free and time-sensitive delivery of often-fragile and over-sized stands and promotional equipment through multi-stops and extremely tight schedules.
"With domestic demand on the rise in Asia, trade fairs and events taking place in the region are increasingly international in nature. In the case of the China Food & Drinks Fair, some 15% of shipments last year came from overseas markets, not including the amount of international goods already available in the local market. For trade fairs and exhibition organisers, partnering with a global logistics company such as ours gives exhibitors access to our global network to ship goods from anywhere in the world, using a variety of transport modes that best suit their requirements," said Kelvin Leung, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific.
Steve Huang, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding China, added, "DHL is honoured to be selected as official logistics partner at what is regarded as one of China's most prestigious events. Last year's event generated close to 20 billion Yuan worth of trade and we are proud to be associated with one of the longest, largest and most influential exhibition and trade platform in China's alcohol and food industry."
The appointment as official logistics partner marks the beginning of a new phase of development and growth for the division, which operates all over China including fast-growing West China and Chengdu. Its menu of specialist trade fair and events logistic services includes pickup and exportation from original country, importation and delivery to the chosen exhibition. It creates tailor-made solutions that include managing custom clearance, government permits for special cargoes, temporary import licenses, transfers and unpacking by experienced industry professionals - all managed by its global network.
The China Food & Drinks Fair is one of China's oldest and most prestigious exhibitions, having begun in 1955. The last exhibition, held in Wuhan from 7-10 October 2013, featured more than 2700 exhibitors and saw 230,000 visitors.
