Sir Fruit and Soweto superheroes join forces
For the launch, each 500ml bottle of Sir Fruit Sweet C will wear a mini red superhero cape, made by the team of local superheroes from Diepsloot, Soweto. The money for the capes will go towards the Jacobs Well Village NPC that looks after orphans and vulnerable children. The launch has already raised R25,000 for the Jacobs Well Village NPA.
A collaboration between creatives and community led to the formation of the Diepsloot Worker Cooperative three years ago. The coop started creating an innovative product range of up-cycled corporate gifts and fair trade promotional clothing which can be viewed at ilovediepsloot.co.za. For the launch of Sweet C they combined their superpowers with Sir Fruit to create a mini cape for each 500ml bottle of Sweet C.
"The team at iLoveDiepsloot is just phenomenal", said Sir Fruit's Marketing Manager, Roanne Goldsmith. "They are modern-day superheroes and we are honoured to work with them on this campaign."
Latest projects
Jacobs Well's latest projects include a dining room and a multimedia library on the premises of Jacobs Well Village. Ongoing training of care workers who are superheroes in their own right and further education of early childhood development teachers are always high on the priority list. Their vision is to develop a village that cares for 400 orphans and vulnerable children.
