To be published quarterly, The Edge is intended to tap into the aspirations of Standard Bank Prestige Banking customers, with a focus on self-accomplishment, better living and financial intelligence.
Standard Bank's segment manager of prestige banking, Adoma Peprah, said that research conducted indicated that its customers wanted more than what traditional financial custom publishing titles offer. "The Prestige Banking customer is looking for more than just financial information and thus this publication will focus on a myriad of lifestyle information.”
She continued, “The accessibility of The Edge title as an online publication allows the busy Prestige Banking customer to access the information immediately and it is for this reason that we have decided to publish it online and not as a print title."
The Edge, which will be available to all Prestige Banking customers at no cost, targets a highly educated customer with an average age of 40 and over, LSM 9 - 10. To qualify for Prestige Banking, one needs to earn over R17 000 a month, or have a classic professional degree (and a minimum monthly income of R3000).
Commenting on why she believes the title will work, Peprah said that The Edge is a new concept in online publishing, which offers lifestyle information to the modern working person who is geared towards living a richer life.
“Whether they want to develop their own financial intelligence, wealth management, lifestyle or trend knowledge, The Edge will bring them ideas, insights and inspiration to help them achieve all this,” she adds.
"Our editorial mix will feature market trends and insights, wealth management and wealth creation information, lifestyle topics relating to travel, leisure, restaurants, gadgets and technology and will include practical advice from experts and recognised professionals."
