Breakfast with the experts
Project Reboot
Professor John Simpson, a director of the UCT Unilever Institute of Strategic Marketing will present "Project Reboot," at both the Cape Town and Durban sessions. The presentation explores the effect the recession is having on spending. As the shockwaves from the meltdown of the world's financial markets are making their presence felt in SA, Project Reboot explores some valuable lessons to be learnt about consumer behaviour in hard times and helps marketers adapt their existing marketing strategies to take these lessons into account.

SA - South Africa or Surviving Ambiguity?
We all know that the letters SA stand for South Africa. But right now, there are many people who will tell you they also stand for Suffering and Anxiety or Stress and Apathy. Chris Gibbons argues that South Africans are, in fact, very good at dealing with the complex pressures of a rapidly changing society. He also calls it SA - Surviving Ambiguity and explains that with the correct information and perspective, we can Start Action, See Abundance and enjoy Success and Achievement. Gibbons is a freelance journalist and broadcaster, an experienced businessman and a director of Primedia Broadcasting, for whom he anchors The Mid Day Report.
