Topping the list was The Daily Show's Trevor Noah with videos on President Jacob Zuma and the Panama Papers.

Second on the list was I'll Beat You from Nigerian channel Mark Angel Comedy, featuring child comedian Emanuella.

It wasn't all light entertainment in the top 10 most-watched videos, however - a road rage incident in Durban also featured. In the video a 4x4 BMW veers off the road after trying to bully a car in the next lane. Also featured in the top 10 was an eNCA Checkpoint episode on Blessers.

Globally, Carpool Karaoke made the Rewind list for the second year. Adele's Carpool Karaoke racked up a whopping 135 million views, making it the most watched YouTube video globally for 2016.

Asian viral hit Piko Taro came in second with 93 million views for Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen/pikotaro and Utah-based father and son duo Daniel and Lincoln Markham's explainer of What's inside a Rattlesnake Rattle? came in third with 59 million views.
