SA Clios shortlist announced

Once again, South Africa has made the shortlist for the 2008 Clio Awards in the Billboard, Innovative Media, Print, Print: Direct Mail, Radio and Television/Cinema/Digital categories. Awards will be presented at the 2008 Clio Festival, 14 - 17 May 2008, at the Gansevoort South Hotel in South Beach, Miami, Florida.

Some statistics on the awards process:

Each year, Clio receives more than 20,000 entries from 65 countries.
Fewer than 10% reach the Shortlist, from which 115 jury members made up of creative leaders from 25 countries re-evaluate the work to determine Gold, Silver and Bronze Clio winners.
Less than 3% of entries receive a Clio statue.
Less than 1% receive a coveted Gold Clio.
Each jury also has the option of awarding Clio's highest honor, the Grand Clio, to one truly exceptional piece of work in each medium from the Gold winners chosen.
