Trustco links up with CNBC Africa
The agreement allows for greater participation by Namibian companies, stakeholders, analysts, as well as government and economic bodies on CNBC Africa's 24/7 business news platform. Namibia is the first country outside of CNBC Africa's established presence in its four main bureaus to come on line with a dedicated fixed camera studio linked to CNBC Africa's studios in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Gary Alfonso, chief operating officer of CNBC Africa says: "We are honoured to be partnered up with a forward-thinking company like Trustco on this project. This agreement creates a platform for Namibian companies and decision-makers to showcase how the country contributes to the African economy.”
"As part of our plans to expand into the rest of Africa, we will be looking at more partnerships such as this, across the continent," says Alfonso. “It is important for us to show the business of Africa to Africa.”
Jill de Villiers, head of programming, says: “It is always exciting when a new live camera comes online. This is particularly compelling, as until now, we've only been talking to Namibia on the phone. Namibia may still be seen as a relatively small market, but it is growing in importance and relevance for investors as doing business in Africa becomes more attractive.”
The fixed-camera link aims to look at relevant local markets and financial insight from Namibia. The live crossings to Namibia take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 4.15pm in the Regional Roundup programme and highlights are repeated at 8pm on Markets Africa.
