South Africans' eyes have been on the news that
Bell Pottinger UK CEO James Henderson has stepped down this weekend, yet retains his stake in the company. Interesting timing as the UK's PRCA is set to hand down an announcement on its sanction of Bell Pottinger later this week. Many are sharing their views on social media.
Julia Breakey writes that content creators are also sharing their opinions about
YouTube's new logo and layout for mobile and desktop - some say the ability to change playback speed on the app, and a dark mode on desktop are just surface-level fixes and that bigger issues like the faulty subscription feature, notification and monetisation should have been top of mind.
Juanita Pienaar also find out how HaveYouHeard or
hyh's new identity offers a more holistic approach to advertising, with cofounder Ryan McFadyen sharing the creative challenges they faced during the rebranding process as well as how the agency now offers fully integrated creative, design, digital, media, events and communications services for both new and existing clients under the hyh umbrella.
We also still have this year's Loeries' winners front and foremost. I caught up with Graham Lang, CCO at Y&R South Africa and Africa, on the agency network's collaborative year of firsts, which range from Y&R Dubai bringing home their first-ever Grand Prix to Y&R Cape Town being awarded the inaugural SANBS Public Service Award and wins for each of Y&R's six contributing offices.
Click through to find out why Lang calls this an
exceptional year for Y&R in Africa and the Middle East, from a creative point of view.
