What not to do when writing adverts What makes a good ad, and for that matter, what makes a clanger? In his article, Claudio Milo gives you five "do not" tips to follow when writing ads. On the newspaper and digital front, Danette Breitenbach takes a look at The Citizen and its entry into the digital realm, while its publisher, Eureka Zandberg, provides some background on the project. Social media is there - so use it, and more specifically, turn Twitter into your event ally, writes Desiree Gullan, who reckons that one of the biggest and most common mistakes event organisers make is only using social media during the event itself, and ignoring the opportunities it offers for generating pre-event hype, and maintaining it long after the event has come and gone. The job market is tough, but Juliette Attwell reckons you can improve your chances of finding the job you want if you make proper use of the social media landscape and use social media as the incredible tool that it is to boost your search for employment. Don't get vulgar on the Volga... well, not in Russia, and certainly not if you happen to be Ivan and Anatoly... or perhaps Anastasia and Alena... but if you are athletes in the World Athletics Championships in Moscow you should be OK, because Russia's Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko reckons the current 'anti gay' law furore surrounding the games is nothing more than an invention of Western media. That's right, blame the messenger... again.
