Time for truly transformational change?

NEWSWATCH: Adlip reports that the local marketing and advertising industry is 'stunned' by proposed BEE Sector Code requirements.

This comes on the back of the Department of Trade and Industry's 4 November time limit for public comment on their now gazetted draft Media, Advertisement and Communication (MAC) Sector Code.

According to Business Report, the code was first gazetted back in 2008.

It targets black ownership and will see companies rewarded for giving more training and employment opportunities to young black graduates.

While that sounds fair and well, Adlip points out that the stick issue of foreign ownership isn't covered in the MAC Sector Code and could lead to confusion down the line. Read more here...
