CSR award for Hemmingways

At a glittering prize-giving ceremony on 29 October 2010, Hemingways took first place for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work over the past year. Hemingways Casino was recognised for the positive impact of their hard work and generous efforts on the local community. The East London casino took pride of place, beating 6 other Tsogo Sun properties.

Main CSR areas that have been targeted include HIV/AIDS, with a special focus on children that have been affected or infected with HIV or AIDS. This includes poverty alleviation and wellness programmes related to the disease; registered child-focussed charities representing a children's village, shelter, orphanage or home, which ideally house between 10 and 20 children; and key initiatives that focus on providing support to the children with regards to education, clothing and food.
