MTNSMS to close down

The MTNSMS.com website, the biggest in SA, is shutting down, leaving millions of its users unable to send SMS's. In a message on the site's front page operator Airborn Wired and Wireless said that the advertising model it adopted had failed and couldn't cover it's costs as mobile operators look for interconnect fees.
