Ask Jeeves drops banner ads
Ask Jeeves, the second most popular search site after Google, has dropped their standard 468-by-60 banner at the top of each page in favour of paid-for contextual listings during a search. Banner response rates had dropped as low as 0.6%, albeit a bit better than the industry average of 0.3%. Ask Jeeves claims that their contextual listings has a response rate of 2% to 5%.
