Government to aid development of multimedia industry

The Department of Trade and Industry aims to introduce a support package to encourage investment in multimedia services. The support package, expected later this year, will deal with the digitisation of studios and the establishment of digital centres to disseminate multimedia services. Government will also look at the standardisation of decoders and would support a programme to manufacture decoders locally.
