Green light for sweetener

Studies on humans in the United States by the US National Cancer Institute, as well as by European Union Food Safety Agency (EFSA), have dismissed claims that sweetener ingredient Aspartame is a hazardous carcinogenic. John Cameron, managing director of Merisant South Africa, distributors of Canderel, says the group welcomes the findings of these various studies, which "reconfirms findings of extensive research conducted by our own scientific consultants".
