Bells Night of the Stars

A record R890 000.00 raised at the tenth annual Bell's Night of the Stars fundraising banquet with the Springbok Squad.

6th June saw the annual Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players Fund annual banquet, The Bell's Night of the Stars being held at the Theatre on the Track at Kyalami.

The Springbok squad were invited guests and were involved in a fundraising telethon in which they took pledges from the public. The two-hour telethon was broadcast live on SuperSport 1. South African rugby fans dug deep in their pockets and a total of R890, 000.00 was raised at the banquet for the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Player's Fund.

The banquet dinner was attended by legendary figures from sport, entertainment and business including Chester Williams, Joost van der Westhuizen, Wynand Claassen, Hennie Le Roux, Syd Nomis, Richard Prentis, Ray Mordt, Kevin de Klerk, Thys Burger, Piet Greyling, Owen Nkumane, Ian McDonald, Gerrie Germyshuis, Christiaan Scholtz, Hugh Bladen and Krynauw Otto all legendary ex-Springboks as well as Carl Reinders, the marketing manager of Bell's Old Scotch Whisky.

The event was MC'd by Joel Stransky who kept the audience entertained. Among the line-up of entertainers were; diva Jennifer Jones as well as talents of South Africa's disabled dancesport champion wheelchair dancers.

Carl Reinders from Bell's Whisky handed over a cheque for R300 000 to the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players Fund.
