Smile to the Rescue with wheelchair friendly kitchen for Elsanne Kamffer
SmileFM's Smile to the Rescue with Bobby and Lindy rallied its listeners to help Elsanne Kamffer make her home more wheelchair friendly. Kamffer was shot by her ex-husband in October 2017. She was left paralysed from under her arms after a bullet passed through her lower spine.
After Bobby and Lindy shared Kamffer's story on their show, listeners offered to make her home in Kraaifontein more wheelchair friendly. Jano from Woodspeck Designs offered to design and build the new kitchen from start to finish. Then, Stuart from Timber City Stellenbosch called to say he'll supply all the wood and new kitchen counter tops, followed by Chris from Fransisco Projects offering to supply the paint and do the paintwork himself. Contractors then worked around the clock to rebuild her kitchen to accommodate her special needs.
