#ZumaMustFall: The political rollercoaster ride

[NEWSWATCH] It's been a topsy-turvy week for South African politics since the removal of Nhlanhla Nene as Finance Minister. Since then David van Rooyen was elected minister, but only had the title for a weekend, with President Jacob Zuma appointing former Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan to the position.

Our economy has seen a sharp decline since these actions with the Rand dropping poorly against the US dollar and British pound, sparking claims that we might be on the brink of a recession.

The frustration at our government has overflowed to Twitter, where the hashtag #ZumaMustFall has been trending since Nene's dismissal. According to ROi Africa, 72% of the country's social media conversation has been about Jacob Zuma in the past week.

And matters don't seem to be getting better with DJs at SABC radio stations allegedly being unable to mention #ZumaMustFall for fear of being shown the door, reports thesouthafrican.com.

The #ZumaMustFall movement has united the country, and citizens are coming together to voice their opinions and organise marches on social media.
