Pretoria hotel school campus gets blending
Hospitalit-e, which was officially launched by the Capital Hotel School (CHS) earlier this year, is now also available at the Pretoria campus.
The Hospitalit-e programme aims to provide individuals with a multi-faceted flexible learning environment. Generally blended learning is described as a combination of two learning environments namely classroom learning and online learning.
“The hospitality industry is moving in a direction of harnessing opportunities through technology. Previously, personalisation was one of the key factors in understanding guests and their needs, but as we evolve into a new digital era, hoteliers now have the opportunity to link the understanding of the guest’s personal wants and needs through connectivity and technology. With the launch of the Hospitalit-e platform, Capital Hotel School will now be able to manage the student’s entire journey. Connectivity will provide an opportunity to do a lot more personalisation, says Gillian Saunders, Deputy CEO and Global Leader for Hospitality and Tourism at Grant Thornton, South Africa.
The platform is mainly steered through correspondence and an online learning portal, coupled with periodic face to face training, making it ideal for working individuals looking to further their career in the hospitality industry.
