From local is lekker to hyper-localisation: Township consumer trends to watch this festive season

Following the Castle Lager Springbok SuperFan competition around South Africa, the five 'teams' came together during the halftime break in the Springboks vs All Blacks game on 20 August 2011 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The Cape Town team of Johan de Wet, Oliver Ivan Greeff, Jan Paul Carstens, Gideon Jacobus Burger and Anthonie Jacobus Lombard took the title and won an all-expense paid trip to New Zealand to accompany the Boks as they take on the world in September this year.

"This exciting journey Castle Lager has set on to find the ultimate Springbok SuperFans has started something greater than just a trip to New Zealand. As September draws closer, we'd like to remind every South African that it is time to come together and rally behind the boys and help them on their way to glory," said Errol Madlala, sponsorship manager for Castle Lager.
