Another 'lift off' for AAD

"We supplied a 250m² dual level design stand for ARMSCOR. The stand made provision for people with disabilities to gain access to the top floor, a unique design element in multiple story design stands," explains Graham Jeffery, Chief Operating Officer of Oasys Cape Town. He says that Oasys also supplied numerous chalet fittings for international exhibitors, as well as a number of system stands in the exhibition halls.

The show attracted over 300 exhibitors from more than 30 countries. Says Billy Nell, Marketing Liaison for AAD: "The show was strictly for trade for the first three days and was per invitation only. We saw over 17 000 trade visitors per day. The last two days were open to the public and with the Friday being a public holiday; we had a record number of visitors." A total of almost 80 000 visitors attended the two public days of the show this year. They enjoyed flying displays of fighter jets, aerobatic displays, as well as transport planes and civil and military helicopters.

The AAD YDP (Youth Development Programme) also had a dedicated pavilion, with role models providing information on future careers in aerospace and defence, whilst the youth played in flight and vehicle simulators, built models and experienced virtual aviation.

"The show was the perfect mix between trade and public. There were many interesting features for all members of the family. We look forward to again contracting to AAD 2012, which will be held at the newly refurbished Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria," concludes Jeffery.
