Hunt for SA's face of FTV is on

With South Africa fast becoming a hotbed of design talent now hosting its own annual Fashion Weeks, the expansion of the Fashion TV (FTV) empire into SA has found a loyal community of trendspotters and followers; now reaching 348 million viewers in 202 countries on five continents. Now for the first time, aspiring South African fashionistas will have the chance to join the global hunt for the esteemed FTV runway title.

“South Africa has a long legacy of producing world class beauties that have participated in international competitions but since our country has found its own fashion pulse, it has been a natural progression for the Fashion TV brand to widen its net to include a South African finalist,” says Lorinda Voges, national marketing manager for FTV SA.

“Emperors Palace is a diverse and versatile venue that has hosted boxing legends, global conferences and world class entertainment. We've proved our mettle as a dynamic venue with live gigs like Johnny Clegg, bashes like the Big Brother Eviction parties but we've also always had a hint of glamour about us. Emperors Palace is known as the venue to spot celebrities and icons. This event is a perfect fit for us,” says Bob Yearham, chief operating officer at Emperors Palace.

Miss Fashion TV will, for the first time in its five year history, produce a South African runway diva to compete in the world finals. After a four month long search that kicks off in January, scouts will deliver 24 dynamic fashion model finalists from across the nation's five biggest cities, with the grand final happening on 18 April 2009.
