What agencies fear most...
Having walked away with the majority of the 2005 Loerie Awards, including 1 Grand Prix Award, 6 Golden Loeries, 24 Silver Loeries, and 35 Bronze Loeries, TBWA \ were the clear leaders amongst the agencies in this years awards claiming once again the top spot among South Africa's creative ranks. The Grand Prix Award for Print Advertising for Fear \ Horror \ Terror "What insects fear the most" - a consumer newspaper advertisement created for Adcock Ingram by Paul Warner (Creative Director), Adam Weber (Art Director) and Hennie Stander (Copy Writer), was one of the highlights for the TBWA \ who ended the weekend on top of the points table with a total of 5550 points, far ahead of the second placed agency who accumulated 4150 points.
Clearly ecstatic at the agency's performance, Mike Bosman, CEO: TBWA\ South Africa, said, "It is a wonderful feeling to be acknowledged as the leading agency in South Africa again. My congratulations go to everyone within the agency for the amazing work they have produced - you are the true winners of these awards."
He adds, "What is interesting to note as well is the fact that the agency won awards across a large spectrum of clients, including Sasol, Tiger Brands, Adcock Ingram, SABC, and The IEC which falls under the public service arena and has never been awarded before."
The results are particularly gratifying, given that TBWA\ has made it a one of their business objectives to once again lead the creative table in South Africa after falling into second place last year, their press release stated.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Sandy de Witt, Group Creative Director: TBWA \ South Africa, said, "I am thrilled at how well TBWA\ has performed. This will certainly inspire us to continue pushing forward next year so as to cement our position as the leading agency in South Africa - not only in terms of the Loerie Awards we receive, but by leading the way with new levels of creativity."
