New appointments for Mahareng Publishers

Mahareng Publishers are pleased to announce two senior appointments.

Rene Koen has been appointed managing director. Rene has been with Mahareng since early 2007 as business manager, and has launched four Get-It titles across central South Africa. Play On, a newspaper for school sports, has also commenced a rollout plan across the region, and a further three editions are planned before end 2008.
Koen has extensive experience in the print industry, having worked as senior manager for Caxton in a number of roles.

Wian Bonthuyzen has been appointed group editor at Mahareng Publishers. Bonthuyzen previously worked as a senior manager at Media 24, and has eleven years experience in the print industry, running up to twelve community titles in central South Africa. Prior to that, he ran his own newspaper, the popular Vrystaat.
