Ashraf Johaardien apppointed FPB PR Manager

Ashraf Johaardien has been appointed Public Relations Manager for the Film and Publication Board. The Board classifies all film material distributed in South Africa, except for that shown on television.

In the past Ashraf has been associated with several major arts and culture organisations, including the SA National Gallery, Iziko Museums of Cape Town and the Baxter Theatre Centre. He is also an award winning, published playwright and poet. His first play COLOURED SON X was produced at the Baxter in 1998 and published in a volume plays entitled "2+2 Plays" in 2000. The Circle East Theatre Company in New York also showcased the play in 2001. His second play SALAAM STORIES is a winner of the inaugural Spier/PANSA Festival and will be produced at the Spier Summer Festival in January 2003.
