Professor John van Zyl elected to the National Governing Council of MISA
ABC Ulwazi Managing Director, Professor John van Zyl, has been elected onto the National Governing Council of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA). He has been assigned the portfolio of Community Media.
Van Zyl plans to concentrate on trying to bring community print media and community radio into a closer relationship. Other members of the board are: Raymond Louw, former Rand Daily Mail editor and freedom of expression advocate; Amina Frense, SABC news assignment editor; Mary Papayya, media consultant and trainer; Mike Loewe, editor of East Cape News Agency; Crystal Orderson, senior SABC reporter.
