In the spirit of former President Nelson Mandela, Lafarge South Africa supplied the Retshwenyegile Relief Givers in Bodibe with groceries. Lafarge also distributed meal packs to 11 local schools in underprivileged communities in and around Bodibe.

To do their bit for Nelson Mandela Day, members of staff at Diageo SA dedicated their 67 minutes to build houses with Habitat for Humanity in Orange Farm and feeding the less fortunate with Meals on Wheels at the Thabo Mbeki settlement in Johannesburg. Diageo SA staff members use the funds that they collect in their VEO Community Fund, an employee-led charitable initiative that is funded by their personal contributions from their monthly salaries and matched by the company, to assist in similar activities throughout the year....

The sixth annual 5 for Change Charity Fundraiser was held at the Cape Town City Hall on 15 July 2017.

The Wonderbag Foundation has given back this Mandela Day by feeding hundreds of people from a local community with warm and nutritious food.

The Knysna fires, which began raging on 7 June 2017, saw families left destitute.
