Three more countries added to AFP's fact-checking collab with FB
Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia have been added to AFP's fact-checking contract with Facebook. The service is currently available in France and the news agency intends on expanding it to more countries.
AFP journalists fact-check potentially false content, including the verification of images, and provide the necessary context where it is lacking.
AFP will publish fact-checking articles - in English, Spanish, and Portuguese - that will be available on blogs, which are expected to go live in June 2018. The blogs will be modelled on Factuel, a site dedicated to verifying and debunking fake news and disinformation spread online.
