In what could change the face of the music industry worldwide, Apple Computer is in talks to buy the world's largest record company, Universal Music Group, from Vivendi Universal. Should the deal worth up to $6 billion go through it could see Apple gain a foothold in new markets for its PCs, software and the iPod digital music player.
